I had the robot surgery about a year ago. It only took about 2 weeks to get control of my bladder.
    Good luck to your dad.

After prostate removal one is fitted with a catheter and either a collecting bag or else a tap on the end of it. This enables one to carry on normally without having to worry much about bladder control. One simply uses a toilet stall rather than a urinal when wanting to empty the bladder though the tap or to empty the bag.

Bladder control can take a month or two to be regained completely, but all should be normal after 3 months. Most sporting events have intervals during which people can visit the toilet without missing any action, so there should be no problems for your father.
